Therefore, it can be beneficial to consciously repeat the mantra that your parents are still your parents and they deserve to be treated as such.”
Being a family caregiver is tough, and managing the new parent/child dynamic (where child is caring for parent) is even tougher. Try to remember all of the years your parents took care of you–patiently helping you, caring for you, loving you. Even though it may seem impossible at times, your parents deserve the same love, patience, respect, and selflessness they have shown you all of your life.
