Please join the town of Mt. Pleasant Historical Commission in celebrating its 6th annual Black History Month. Every Saturday at 7 pm during the month of February, a different event will be held at one of several locations around town. All events are free and open to the public.
Mark your calendars for this week’s “Marching to Motown”, a musical history of African-American music from 1868 to 1968, presented by Notre Dame’s Director of Bands, Dr. Ken Dye. The show starts at 7 pm on Thursday, February 13 at Christ Church, 2304 North Highway 17. And don’t miss the photography exhibition of acclaimed photographer Cecil Williams, on Saturday, February 15 at 7 pm at Town Hall, 100 Ann Edwards Lane. Mr. Williams chronicled the Civil Rights Movement in South Carolina and brings it powerful images for our thoughtful consideration.
